Recreation Department Policies

REGISTRATION POLICY

In order to guarantee your spot in a program/activity, payment must be received in full prior to the start of the session. If payment is not received by the start date, you will not be allowed to attend. Thank you for your cooperation.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Safety is our number one priority.  If winter weather conditions present a threat, the Papillion Recreation Department Reserves the right to postpone or cancel activities.

The Recreation Facilities are community locations that provide services essential to the quality of life for the citizens and visitors of Papillion. During inclement weather, City resources need to prioritize services for the safety and wellbeing of all. Weather is unpredictable; therefore, a blanket policy is difficult.

The Department Heads from Recreation and the Library will work with the City Administrator to make a joint decision on closures when situations arise. The main concern in the decision process is the ability to have and maintain safe public/staff access to the facilities. This includes parking and entrances.

Stay connected and follow us on Facebook and Twitter for any weather related updates.

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY

Papillion Recreation reserves the right to cancel any activity due to low enrollment and will provide a full refund. Please note: any on-line transaction fees are non-refundable.

GENERAL REFUND POLICY

Registration for a program/activity may be canceled prior to the start (does not apply to any Papillion Race Series Events, Papillion Landing Memberships, Papio Bay Season Passes, SumTur Events, or Facility Rentals). You will receive a refund minus a $5.00 charge for administrative handling, regardless of cost. Sorry, no cash refunds will be given out. Refunds will be given by check or credit voucher only or credited back to your credit card (when applicable).

Cancellation after a program/activity begins will not be refunded or credited. In case of illness or injury occurring within the first 2 weeks of a program, a partial credit may be given; written verification by a physician will be required.

WAIT LIST POLICY

Once a program is filled, a waiting list will be created. You will be called in the order in which you were put on the wait list if an opening becomes available or if additional classes are created. Note: if additional classes are created, they may not be at the same time or day as the original program.

We will only put someone on a roster from the wait list if a spot comes open prior to the session starting. Once the session starts, the roster is frozen, and no additions can be made.

INSUFFICIENT FUNDS

There will be a $20.00 collection fee added to all returned checks.

PHOTO POLICY

On occasion, Papillion Recreation Department staff may take photos of participants enrolled in our programs, classes and events or people in our parks. Please be informed that these photos may be used in future magazines and on brochures, flyers, website, etc. Thank You!
