The Papillion Fire Department provides fire protection, emergency medical (EMS), and fire prevention services to 70,000 people, covering 68 square miles in the central part of Sarpy County. We have 60 career firefighters working on 3 shifts providing 24 per 7 coverage, operating out of four stations. We staff two ambulances (medic units), 3 engines, 1 ladder truck, and 1 shift supervisor. Administratively, we have a Fire Chief, a Deputy Chief, an EMS Manager, a Fire Marshal, one Fire Inspector, four Fire Investigators, an Administrative Assistant/EMS Billing Manager, and EMS Billing Clerk.

The PFD has served the City of Papillion and the Papillion Rural Fire Protection District since the late 1800's. On April 1, 2014, we began serving the City of La Vista. These 3 entities fund the operations of the fire department.
